Content Distribution Partners
DaCast www.dacast.com, Akamai www.akamai.com, and JW Player www.jwplayer.com
are the exclusive broadcast platform providers for Tybee Media Group broadcast properties. Our streams are prepared live in our studios and then forwarded to DaCast and JW Player where they are transcoded into multiple formats, i.e. Flash, HLS, HTML 5, Video On Demand, etc. which allows our programming to be viewed on virtually any web enabled device without the need to download or install any additional applications.
Akamai provides Tybee Media Group with a robust and "Always On" connection to the Internet utilizing nearly 200,000 servers across 93 countries. In addition to the Akamai platform, Tybee Media Group maintains and operates 16 data centers around the world to keep our various website online 24/7.
Via these three worldclass providers, our broadcast properties have access to virtually unlimited bandwidth affording us the opportunity to scale up and down as necessary and to allow an unlimited number of simultaneous viewers. Our viewers will never experience a "Server Is Full" message.
Tybee Media Group Internal Infrastructure
Although DaCast, JW Player and Akamai do much of the heavy lifting for our content distribution, it is essential that our content is delivered to our global viewing audience with the lowest latency possible.
Our Content Delivery Network (CDN) is second the none. Tybee Media Group maintains and operates 16 strategically placed data centers around the world to deliver content to our viewers in the most efficient manner possible (See List Below). One way of accomplishing this is to route traffic connecting to any of our broadcast facilities to the data center closest to the viewers geographic location. However, a faster connection may be made by routing our viewers to the second closest geographical location where traffic is lower resulting in a faster overall connection. The determination is made within microseconds of a viewer connecting to any of our broadcast platforms. The viewer will always be connected to the closest and / or quickest data center to ensure the best possible viewing experience. Additionally, our viewers will never receive a "Server Is Full" message. Our infrastructure, both internal and outsourced, provides us an unparalleled opportunity to scale up and down as required by connection / network access requests.
